Community Guidelines
Whippet Wire is for whippet owners, breeders, fans, and anyone curious about the breed. These guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Service. When in doubt, be kind and use good judgment.
Be respectful
Debate ideas, not people. No harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, or dog-piling. Disagree without making it personal. We're all here because we love the breed.
Keep it real
One account per person. Don't impersonate others or misrepresent who you are. Share your own photos and words unless you have permission. No spam, scams, or misleading listings in the directory.
Privacy & safety
Your diary is private by default — only share what you're comfortable showing on your public profile or in the member directory. Don't post other people's personal information (addresses, phone numbers, private messages) without consent. Be thoughtful with photos of children or people who aren't members.
Forums & events
Stay on topic in forum categories. Event posts should be genuine meetups or activities — not ads disguised as events. Commercial directory listings belong in the directory, not repeated across forums.
Health & breeding
Share experiences thoughtfully. We're not a substitute for a vet. Breeding and rehoming discussions should follow applicable laws and breed-club ethics. No promotion of irresponsible breeding or puppy mills.
Reporting & moderation
See something that breaks these guidelines? Use the report button on forum threads and replies. Moderators may remove content, lock threads, or suspend accounts. We'll use our judgment — repeated or serious violations may result in a permanent ban.
